WHAT MATTERS TO ME WHEN DESIGNING SPACES
In every project, I seek solutions that are not only aesthetically pleasing and functional, but also support people in their daily lives, provide guidance and allow for freedom. For me, design means creating spaces that resonate with people and adapt to them – not the other way round.
That is why design concepts in interior architecture are always guided by the needs of the users. In doing so, I develop solutions that work intuitively and blend harmoniously into their context.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY & VALUES
01
Sustainability & durability
For me, sustainability begins right at the design stage: through careful planning, a respectful approach to existing structures, and the conscious selection of materials. I favour durable, high-quality products that conserve resources as much as possible, which are allowed to age gracefully and retain their quality over the years. This is not about short-lived trends, but about timeless solutions that stand the test of time.
I believe that good design carries a responsibility: towards our environment, towards future generations and towards the people for whom we design.
03
Design that creates identity
Design that fosters a sense of identity emerges from a sensitive interplay of context, history and individual use. I work with what is already there, picking up on traces and translating them into a contemporary design. This creates spaces with depth that do not feel arbitrary, but instead convey a clear sense of purpose.
At the same time, the aim is to provide people with a framework in which they can find themselves. Materials, colours and forms are chosen deliberately to create atmosphere and strengthen a sense of belonging. A space may leave its mark – yet remain open enough to evolve alongside its users.
02
User needs
I make a conscious effort to take the time to listen, observe and identify the often unspoken needs that lie behind the visible desires. After all, spaces work best when they feel natural – when processes are intuitive, atmospheres are supportive, and use and design are in harmony. It is not just about functionality, but also about well-being. Light, materials, proportions and acoustics have an immediate effect on people and influence how we feel in a space. I translate these factors into designs that are both practical and emotionally compelling.
04
Positive atmosphere
The impact of a space extends far beyond its visible design – it influences how we think, feel and act. For me, a key objective is to create spaces that foster a positive, uplifting atmosphere and support people in their daily lives.
Factors such as light, materials and acoustics play a decisive role in this. I consciously work with these elements to develop spaces that convey a sense of calm, provide orientation or inspire – depending on what the place requires. A positive spatial effect is created when everything fits together harmoniously and a natural balance becomes palpable.

With a keen eye, experience and a great deal of passion, I design spaces that accompany people in their everyday lives. At the heart of every project lies a harmonious and functional design that fosters a sense of well-being and creates a positive atmosphere.
My work is characterised by a respectful approach to existing building structures, an appreciation of history, and a keen sense of colour and materials. With creative ideas, attention to detail and a sure sense of atmosphere, I take on every new challenge – with the aim of giving each project its own identity and a tangible sense of quality.

AT ATELIER A;NOU
For selected projects, I work with two freelance designers who provide support in the fields of interior architecture and design. Working together, we generate even more diverse ideas and achieve a strong creative outcome.

Darja Studer
Freelance in branding & graphic design, interior design
BA in Product & Industrial Design
I work in an interdisciplinary manner, approaching design holistically and across disciplinary boundaries. My focus is on translating concepts into clear visual systems, bringing identity to life, and developing solutions that are both functionally effective and aesthetically compelling.
My work ranges from branding and web design to product and packaging design, as well as layout studies and interior concepts. With an analytical eye, creative openness and a keen sense of material, form and colour, I create designs that resonate with people – well thought-out in the process, precise in execution and relevant to everyday life.

Julia Rahel Stöckli
Freelance in branding & graphic design, spatial design
BA in Spatial Design | Graphic Designer (EFZ)
My initial enthusiasm for graphic design evolved into a passion for designing physical, digital and virtual spaces – from 2D to 3D – and shaped my career path as a spatial designer.
The interdisciplinary and multimedia focus in spatial design is a key cornerstone of my work. I operate at the intersection of graphic design, communication, architecture, scenography, atmosphere, digital technology and virtual reality. With a balance of clarity and exploration, accompanied by a keen sense of visual and experiential harmony, I create well-thought-out spatial experiences and concepts.
In addition to interior design, the studio also creates design solutions in the areas of spatial design, branding, and graphic design, particularly for companies and brand spaces.
