As part of the planned renovation of the 68 guest rooms at the Hotel La Palma au Lac in Locarno, a holistic interior design concept was developed that combines the hotel’s unique location on Lake Maggiore with a contemporary, high-quality design. The goal of the project is to offer guests an atmospheric yet functional spatial experience that blends tranquility, elegance, and local identity.

The concept is based on a warm, natural palette of colors and materials. Earthy beige and sand tones, combined with dark wood and subtle black accents, create a calm yet elegant atmosphere. The design draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape of Ticino and interprets it through a modern design language.

Central elements are clearly structured built-in furniture pieces that combine functionality and aesthetics. Custom-made wooden elements, such as wall paneling, built-in cabinets, and open shelving systems, define the space and create a high-quality appearance. The combination of soft textiles and precisely crafted details produces a balanced interplay of comfort and design.

Special attention is paid to the integration of functional elements: work areas, storage space, and media units are harmoniously embedded into the overall design. The furnishings are minimalist yet carefully selected to meet both the aesthetic and practical requirements of a hotel room.

The overall interior design concept establishes a clear visual identity for the hotel rooms. The renderings support the planning process and serve as the basis for implementation. The result is a modern, inviting spatial concept that reinforces the hotel’s character and offers guests a high-quality stay.
